So who am I? I'm not really sure myself. I am a man of average height, brown hair/eyes, and overpowering good looks. I like Sci-Fi books/movies, play lead electric guitar, and have a degree in CompSci. I have a very narrow appreciation for art, and I like almost any music that's innovative and not too dissonant. Life outlook? Cautious optimist.
I'm fairly active in my church. Jesus Christ is an important part of my life. I am not perfect but I know He's there for me every day whenever I need Him. I haven't physically seen Him or talked to Him, but there's just too much evidence I see in my life of a guiding hand that responds (though not controlled by) my prayers.

Dream Thief by Stephen R. Lawhead.
SCI-FI literary beauty. Well, at least the story was compelling for me. Who knew aliens were... uh well I won't say anymore.
Ryrie Study Bible NASB
You read that right, this is a real man's Bible here. This is quite possibly the closest word for word american english translation of the Bible available (that's fairly widely accepted). You wouldn't think so, but it's also VERY readable. I personally like how they try to preserve the original wording which allows a lot more nuances of the original sentence framing to come through. I'm not sure but this might have been the same version Moses used!
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
A thing of beauty. Only read this when you're feeling great. Satire and SCI-FI collide to reveal a compelling book (well ~six books in one). You read along thinking he's just making stuff up and then about 2/3 through you get this nagging suspicion that the story is going somewhere and that you won't like it, and you're right. Get anti-depressants before reading, but if you can make it through without endangering yourself or others it's worth it. Every geek/nerd should read this.
Firebird Trilogy
Yes, more SCI-FI, but fairly unique in my experience. This one has some interesting ideas about space travel/tech and telepathic/telekinetic abilities. And it's even Christian! A nice hefty piece of fiction, just the way I like it.
Hall of the Dragon King Trilogy
Fantasy, middle ages style books I grew up on. Great boy to hero story development. Nice and hefty.
Singreale Chronicles 3 Books
Unique fantasy setting. A little darker, about vegetarians no less!
The Singer Trilogy
Great allegory for spiritual life. Just plain beautiful. Can't recommend this trilogy enough.
The Silmarillion
Yes I'm one of those Tolkien fans. If you've read "The Hobbit", and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Then this book is all you have left in your conquest (unless you plan to learn Elven, people sent Tolkien elven letters before book 3 was out). You need to be a serious fan to finish this one. It spans thousands of years and doesn't stay with any one character or place too long. It's more of an encyclopedia to middle earth than anything else. I just wish Tolkien had lived to finish it. His son wrote the last couple chapters, and he may be Tolkien, but he's no JRR.
The Fabric of the Cosmos
Space Time (err Spacetime), Relativity, Quantum Physics and "spooky action at a distance" are now all within your grasp! This book touches on cosmology as well.
